puzzle trance

A state of being that occurs when doing a large jigsaw puzzle. One may experience losing track of time, being unable to do other things, or being unable to shift focus away from the puzzle in front of them.

“I’m sorry I missed your party. I was in a puzzle trance! I couldn’t pull myself away from the puzzle!”
