flappity

"Flappity" is a very versatile word. It can denote a negative or a positive mood or state. In the positive context, "flappity" involves excitement, extreme joy, and an uncanny desire to let everyone around you know of your elation.

In the negative context, "flappity" involves anxiety, conflicts, over-exaggerated anger, and an uncanny desire to let everyone around you know of your unhappiness and/or grumpiness. It is also often used to describe a person who is part of or the cause of a to-do.

Alternately, "flappity" can be used to describe a person who is literally flapping one's arms about or who is using a "flappity" sort of object, such as a flag.

Verbal use of the word "flappity" often involves jazz hands, although this is of course optional. The motion is very helpful in explaining the definition of "flappity" to another person.

Also known as "getting one's panties in a twist." Other forms of the word include "flappiness," "flappiest," and "flap."

Jason is without a doubt the flappiest person I've ever met in my life. By far. He's getting flappity right now, actually. More flappity by the minute.

Kristen and Jennifer got so flappity with each other last night!

Did you see all the flappity emails about the deadlines that weren't met? I've never seen so much flap at work in my life!
