Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

-often referred to as simply "Code Geass", is a Japanese anime series created by Sunrise with original character designs by Clamp.
-the series is set after Japan's conquest by the Holy Britannian Empire on August 10, 2010, a.t.b. with their powerful new robot weapons, the Knightmare Frames, stripping Japan and its citizens of all rights and freedoms and renaming the country Area 11. The titular Lelouch is an exiled Britannian prince, who has vowed to destroy his father, the Emperor, and Britannia. He gains the ability through the mysterious power of the Geass, becoming the leader of the resistance movement to fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister Nunnally can live happily.
-all in all,I could not help but compare this show to Death Note and any Huge Mecha Show.there are many "rivalries" where two people square off against each other, either physically or mentally.Just as Light and L were great rivals, so do Lelouch and Suzaku fight a lot, but ultimately get more accomplished working together. there are many chess references throughout the show and some product placement. (Pizza Hut)

Jeff:"Want to watch a really epic anime?"
Craig:"I guess. But how do you mean 'epic'?"
Jeff:"Well picture Death Note with THREE other anime genres thrown into the mix plus like 30 more characters. Then you have Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion."
Craig:"Sounds confusing."
Jeff:"It can be if you miss a single episode."

Gary:"OMG!Lelouch = epic win!Code Geass is amazing!"
Ash:"I disagree. While it is a good show with many things going for it,it also has some very unnecessary points."
Gary:"How do you mean?"
Ash:"Well they didn't need to keep Jeremiah alive, they made Lelouch's maid a NINJA(WTF?), the Emperor looks ridiculous with that wig, Nina (humps a table?what?), etc. etc.
Gary:"I don't get it."
Ash:"Just go to TV Tropes and look up the word NARM."

Death Note

one of the newest, most popular and up-and-coming animes I've ever seen. it's not like most traditional animes that focus on fighting, evolving, building up power, or involving some kind of giant mech machine. No, Death Note is a story of a brilliant boy named Light who finds a supernatural note book dropped deliberately by a bored Death god (Ryuk). The note has the ability to kill anybody whose name is written in it. Furthermore, the time of death, cause of death, and events leading up to the death can all be manipulated simply by writing it down. Light chooses to use this amazing notebook to "judge" the world. He begins executing criminals and believes justice is on his side. He figures soon all crime will cease altogether and he will rule this world as its "God". Unfortunately for Light, the police are trying to solve the mystery of the strange deaths that are killing off all convicted criminals. Having no major leads, they call in "L", a super detective whom rarely anyone has met. He has never failed a case, and is incredibly smart. By this time, the world has branded the person believed responsible for criminal deaths as "Kira" meaning "killer". Soon enough, a battle of wits ensues between Kira and L. L is trying to find out who Kira is. Light is trying to find out who L is, and what's his name. Whoever obtains their goal first wins, and the loser faces the penalty of death.

I strongly recommend this anime. It's different, suspenseful, dark, and more suited for teens not children. It's already been made into two movies. and a third is on the way, based on the character "L".

Jeff:"Hey man, have you watched Death Note?"
Craig:"No , what the heck is it?"
Jeff:"It's a show about a friggin' notebook that KILLS people!"
Craig:"Sweeeet."

"L": "Light come out of the bathroom. You've been in there for over an hour."
Light: "Not now. busy. writing in my death note."
"L": "What was that? Death whaat?"
Light: "I mean--oh shit."

Rant

--1.
-a novel by Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club)

--2.
-the titular character of the novel of the same name. His real name is Buster L. Casey but his nickname "Rant" came from a childhood prank involving animal organs which resulted in numerous people getting sick. As each person threw up, they made a sound that resembled the word "rant," which became a local synonym for "vomit" and Buster's nickname.
He starts a tooth fairy scheme involving gold pieces which changes the economy of his town, deliberately gets bitten by spiders, snakes, coyotes, etc. until he gets rabies, spreads it other ppl and then moves to the big city where he participates in a demolition derby known as "Party Crashing".

--3.
-to throw up or vomit. originates from the book "Rant".

--1.
Guy 1: I like Fight Club.
Guy 2: Read Rant.
Guy 1: Why? Reading is stupid.
Guy 2: No U. (wins argument)

--2.
Tyler: I remember Rant Casey. He personally gave me rabies.
Jack: Bull****. You just want to be famous by association with Rant. You never actually met him did you?
Tyler: Actually I did. He had jet-black teeth, and rumor has it that he invented Party Crashing. (wins a gold coin dated 1887)

--3.
Girl 1: Holy crap I feel sick.
Girl 2: Yeah, what's up?
Girl 1: I think I'm gonna rant.
Girl 2: No U. (wins NOT-VOMIT)
