Mick Taylor

Mick Taylor is a British guitarist who first gained fame for playing with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. In 1969, Brian Jones was kicked out of the Rolling Stones (he died not long after that). In need of a replacement, Mick Taylor was added to the band.

Taylor was an excellent, but very underrated guitarist. He's definitely as good as Keith Richards, but perhaps even better than that. Despite his skill, he wasn't a very prominent or popular member of the band, often considered the "forgotten" member of the band. In 1974, Mick Taylor left the band. He played with Bob Dylan in the 80s but was otherwise not a very prolific artist since the Stones.

Mick Taylor is an awesome yet underrated guitarist. It's a shame that his excellent playing is so overlooked.

Eddie Cochran

Late 50s rock'n'roll musician who performed excellent tunes like "Something Else" and "C'mon Everybody". Though he was only around twenty when he recorded, his voice sounds much older. Sadly, Eddie died in a car wreck when he was only twenty-one years old.

Eddie Cochran was a great musician, but seems to be overshadowed by the success of more popular rock'n'roll singers like Elvis and Buddy Holly.

Neo-McCarthyism

Neo-McCarthyism is when you investigate just about everything about everyone out of paranoia. Over-thorough secrurity inspections at airports are an example of Neo-McCarthyism. This term was coined by Mike Newhouse in the classic movie Dazed and Confused.

Mike: I didn't think drugs and alchohol were such a big deal they had to resort to Neo-McCarthyism to get rid of it.
Pink: I think they're just worried that some of us are having too good a time.

Green River

1. Gary Ridgway, the "Green River killer". Murdered over fifty people near Seattle, mostly prostitutes. Kind of like Jack the Ripper. He is the namesake of:

2. Green River, an awesome Seattle-based band in the mid-80s, arguably the inventors of grunge. Singer Mark Arm and guitarist Steve Turner later formed Mudhoney, and everyone else except the drummer later formed Mother Love Bone. Today, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard are famous for their work in Pearl Jam.

3. An album by Creedence Clearwater Revival, their second release of 1969. A great record with many good songs, including the title track.

1. While the Green River Killer was only accounted for forty-eight murders, he claimed to be the killer of over ninty people.

2. Green River made a lot of great and influencial songs such as "Swallow My Pride".

3. Green River is a very acclaimed album, often considered CCR's best record.
