Torticollis is a neck deformity or a âconditionâ causing either side of the neck muscles or tendons to contract and pull , making the head slightly or fully tilt to one side , sometimes itâs corrected with surgery along with therapy, and sometimes it just goes away with just therapy.. physical therapy that is. Most people who have this condition are born with it, the mothers womb was too small when the Child was being developed in the last few months probably, and after being born most of them are wheelchair bound , and the âluckyâ ones only have to deal with the pain and discomfort of having a slightly tilted head. And for the ones in wheelchairs , they usually have the condition worse then the ones who arenât in wheelchairs. This condition is rare , slightly on the âextremelyâ rare side.
Justin: Iâve been meaning to ask .. why is your head always tilted?
Michelle: I have torticollis, I was born with it , and had surgery to help but my head still likes to lean towards the side⦠Iâm able to turn my head around tho, unlike how I wasnât before my surgery.
Justin: does it hurt?
Michelle: sometimes, when Iâm over working my neck with keeping it up straight, and if I lift heavy objects.
