Pirate

A pirate is a true 'live for the moment' skateboarder.

"I mean how many 16 year-old surfers wear watches, man?"
"Yeah, well, he's got a job."
"Yeah, my point exactly. He’s not one of us man…You know, he’s not a pirate."

Skip Engblom on Stacy Peralta in Lords of Dogtown. It's worth mentioning, however, that Stacy most definitely was a pirate.

Charlie Don't Surf

A term used by skateboarders when breaking entry into private property in order to skateboard appropriate terrane without permission. Derived from a line by Robert Duvall’s character, Lt. Colonel Kilgore in “Apocalypse Now” in response to a soldier’s assertion that an area that he wants to surf is “Charlie’s point” He screams defiantly “Charlie don't surf!” A way of saying “I don't care about the risks, there's no way I'm not riding that!”

"Look at that handrail! But there's a padlock on the fence and a 'beware of the dogs' sign... Charlie Don't Surf!"
