The state of not having a word for a concept

1) Man, there's a great word for that in Swahili, but there's no word for it in English. We need to come up with a new word to take care of this anominy.

2) I had this great idea, but it was totally anominous, so I made up a word for it.

“Taking pleasure in the misfortune of others” was an anominy in English, so the German word “ schadenfreude” had to be borrowed.
