Het-Washing

The act of historians intentionally reframing historically queer relationships as platonic friendships in order to 'wash' queer identity from history.

Verb. To have one's words be used out of context for devious or unjust purposes. Often a practice of biased media sources, pundits, podcast hosts, etc.
