Exactly like someone, somewhere or something else.
His town was one of the few towns left that had nothing unique about it, and he didn't feel like his town needed anything to make it unique enough to be good enough for him. He liked where he lived and he could visit a unique city or an island some day if he decided to. Some called the place un-unique, but for him it was all he needed.

A relationship where the female works 10 times as hard as the male, or at least claims to.
I sure am glad I've never been in a heterosexual relationship. I don't like to make other people work so hard.

Trying to get somebody to do something based on what everyone else is doing, thinks is safe, or thinks someone should do.
Most people wear masks, and some think that peer pressure, or even something worse than peer pressure (like deaths) is going to change the way somebody else does things, especially if peer pressure convinced them to put on a mask. Life is worth losing.

You dont get sick from peer pressure, you get sick from pathogens. You dont go to the doctor because of peer pressure, you go because you are sick. Wearing a mask is no different. You dont decide whether to wear a mask because of peer pressure, you decide to wear a mask or not wear one based on whether you're sick.
Peer pressure doesn't change whether someone is sick or not, therefore it should never influence what someone wears on their face or head.
The unclefucker had always had a one-sided, lecherous interest in his/her uncle, and never saw that his/her uncle was not interested.
Some call a gathering place a bedrock of a community.
A lot of things called the bedrock of a community, or a gathering place, have either shut down, or burned to the ground in the past year. The good news, if there is any, is that no fire, whether small, or vast like a wildfire, lasts forever. A fire always runs out of fuel once there's nothing left for it to spread to, or burn.
