Intellectually Disabled

The politically correct term for "mentally retarded." It became more widespread after the word "retard", originally used to describe a person who legitimately has an abnormally low IQ, was gradually used more and more as a pejorative term for people who suffer from developmental disorders.

"My cousin has an IQ of 62. He is intellectually disabled."

Gentleman's Agreement

An unwritten agreement between a group of people (usually friends playing a game) to not do something extremely dickish or unfair, no matter how tempting or obvious it may be.

A famous example of a gentleman's agreement is when players would always agree to not use Oddjob in Goldeneye N64, and no one would object.

Excuse Me While I Kiss This Guy

A humorous misheard song lyric in the song "Purple Haze." The actual lane is "Excuse me while I kiss the sky."

Today, it is used as an umbrella term for misheard lyrics in various songs.

Fun Fact: Sometimes, when Jimi Hendrix performed this song, he would actually say "Excuse Me While I Kiss This Guy" to screw with the audience.

That Sounded Better In My Head

A common phrase used when someone says something they randomly thought of without thinking and it doesn't sound quite as good out loud.

Fallout 76 DJ: "You're listening to Appalachia Radio. It's like a Super Stimpak...for the soul. *Cough* Ooh, that sounded better in my head..."
