Flamboyant male user of online computer games, who is often more concerned that his avatar looks attractive than it’s effectiveness in the game setting.

Considered by many to be simply a geek, the more astute online gamers also sometimes realise he’s a battyboy.

Can often be found in PlanetSide, WoW or WC3.

Favours elements of games that are impressive or show flair. A wannabe powergamer purely because he gets bored so quickly. Infamous for creating dozens of characters in an MMORPG rather than actually playing one to completion.

Digby : “What’s up, Sparkie?”
Sparkie : “Well I got my elf to level 12... but I just don’t think the green hair looks as good as the purple... hmmm... think I’ll start over.”
