a tribe called quest

Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. One of - if not the best - hip-hop groups to ever exist. Pioneers of the D.A.I.S.Y. (Da Inner Sound Y'all) genre of hip-hop along with De La Soul. Also a part of the Native Tongues Posse. They forged the gratest hip-hop album of all time (IMO): "The Low End Theory"

"If knowledge is the key then just show me the lock
Got the scrawny legs but I move just like Lou Brock
With speed. I'm agile plus I'm worth your while
One hundred percent intelligent black child
My optic presentation sizzles the retina
How far must I go to gain respect? Ummmm
Well, it's kind of simple, just remain your own
Or you'll be crazy sad and alone
Industry rule number four thousand and eighty:
Record company people are shady"

- Check the Rhime ("The Low End Theory" - A Tribe Called Quest, 1991)

AZ

a.k.a. AZ the Visualiza

Incredibly talented emcee. He has the illest flow in the game, hands down. His music is so fluid and smooth, and his rhymes are intelligent, but still street-wise He isn't about whores or the bling-bling.

AZ is the best emcee to come out of Queens, IMO (yes, better than Nas). Made his first appearance on Nas' "Life's a Bitch" off of the Illmatic album, and has worked with Nas alot. Every single hip-hop fan should own his album Doe or Die

I got styles sick as hell, sicker than sickle cell anemia
Slaughter your circulatory like lukemia
Filled with larceny, who want parts of me?
I'm vicious, mad malicious
Cuz it's real on this road to riches
I got this mastered, other rappers'll craft it
Weak and wicked, camoflauged as killers
How they speak and kick it
Peep this uniqueness
Nonbelievers I'm leaving speechless
Left to chokers and skunk smoke
Was coming through the speakers
Surgically nice with any verbal device
Trife, breathing life into mics
My insight's beyond the twilight
So die, fight, no surrender, no retreat
My techniques speak
I'm rather unique
