When you make a mess by dropping food. Particularly while eating with poor manners. Often the subject is shoveling food into his or her mouth with voracity and some escapes.

“I neffed myself while eating spaghetti and it stained my shirt.”

“Did you just neff the table? I just cleaned that!”
