homophones

Gay telephones!

Look at those two old rotary telephones on that desk. Note the way their cords are all tangled up with one another -- they must be homophones of some kind!

just to be sure it's Westinghouse

Means the same as the phrase, "just to be sure"; the "it's Westinghouse" part originated from television commercials for Westinghouse Electric in the 1950s, who's catchphrase was, "You can be sure, if it's Westinghouse".

{Craig}: Hey Paul, did you remember to charge your wheelchair today?
{Paul}: I think so but let me check just to be sure it's Westinghouse.

spit diaper

A partial facemask put on prisoners who have a nasty tendency to spit or hawk loogies at the arresting officer(s), courtroom inhabitants (judge, bailiff, prosecuting attorneys, jury members, court reporter, etc.), prison employees, and so on. Spit diapers fit relatively tightly over the mouth & nose of the offending spitter, and are fastened to the face with thin elastic bands that fit around the ears.

Eduardo kept spitting at the cops, so they gave him a spit diaper right after he had his mugshot.

Team super douche

A team of people who utterly suck -- in fact, they suck & blow at the same time!

What part are you role-playing now, huh? Team super douche?

baited breath

A fairly common misspelling of the phrase, "bated breath".

{In a small series of text messages between Josh & Mary in the same room}"
{Josh}: I'm sitting here with baited breath waiting for the postman!
{Mary}: What, have you been eating smelt or sushi or something? I don't smell fish!

pole pig

A step-down transformer, the same shape as and somewhat larger than a garbage can, normally seen bolted to the side of a utility pole in many suburban & rural neighbourhoods.

Pole pigs convert 7,200 or 4,300 volts distribution power down to 120 and 240 volts used by most homes in the United States.

Hey Martha!
Check out that pole pig over there -- the bolts that hold it to the pole are rusted and are about to bust!
That pole pig's going down!!!

faggy clothes

Another term for, "gay apparel".
N.B., the word gay didn't mean back in the 19th century when the song, "Deck the Halls" was written what it means in the 21st century. :-/

Definitions:
19th century: Gay = bright & lively, NOT homosexual.
21st century: Gay = a total faggot man! Do I have to spell it out for you? ;-)

Deck the Halls: how it's supposed to go:

♫Deck the halls with boughs of holly, ♫
♫Fa la la la la, la la la la. ♫
♫Tis the season to be jolly,♫

♫Fa la la la la, la la la la. ♫
♫Don we now our gay apparel, ♫
♫Fa la la, la la la, la la la. ♫

How it COULD go:

♫Deck the halls with boughs of holly, ♫
♫Fa la la la la, la la la la. ♫
♫Tis the season to be jolly,♫
♫Fa la la la la, la la la la. ♫
♫Putting on our faggy clothes, ♫
♫Fa la la, la la la, la la la. ♫
