Verb. Past tense. The half-hearted attempt to buy someone's love with a lousy act or gift. Viewed as insulting by the intended recipient.

Root. Complaints of loss of free meal on an eight hour, $2000 flight is countered by unnamed airline through an offering of stroopwaffles and wasabi rice cracker snacks for customers to "indulge in".

Last night, Joe's sexual advances were rebuffed by his wife. He was stroopwaffled when she offered a handjob instead. She fell asleep before he could finish.

Verb. An inadequate gesture of compensation made by a company with monopoly on a service. Gesture has the opposite intended effect and draws negative attention to it's shitty business practices.

I just paid $2000 dollars for an eight hour flight to Hawaii. The airline stroopwaffled me. All I got was some lousy wasabi rice crackers.
