FPI

FPI is an abbreviation of Freddo price index which is a method of calculating inflation using the price of Cadburys Freddo frog bars over time. The FPI gains its name from pre-existing methods to calculate inflation, those being the consumer price index and retail price index. FPI exclusively looks at the weighted cost of Freddo bars and does not account for the cost of living.

News reader "Mark Carney will sit down with the MPC today to decide on the base rate for this upcoming quarter, officials will be taking into account CPI, RPI and the Freddo price index when making their decision to incentivise spending or not."
