Lol

Originally MY NAME before idiotic internet types started using it as a replacement for the emotional response known as laughter, whilst chatting (read typing blankly) to one another online.

Now taken to mean 'laugh out loud' by the entire population, thus negating the need for any real expression of amusement, and making me look like a weirdo named after a chatroom abbreviation.

New potential friend: Hey nice to meet you, I'm Sarah.

Lol: Oh hi, I'm Lol

New potential friend: Oh right like Laugh Out Loud? Why d'you call yourself that then?

Lol: I was Lol years before the whole lol thing started, my Mum called me it from birth! FROM BIRTH!! Goddammit!!!

New potential friend: Ok....I have to go...
