Mayya

Mayya is Hausa for "witch".
Hausa is a Chadic language with about 44 million speakers. It is spoken mainly in northern Nigeria and Niger, and also in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, CAR, Chad, Congo, Eritrea, Germany, Ghana, Sudan and Togo.

"I will dress as a Maaya."
"What is a Mayya?"
"Maaya means witch in Hausa."
"...so why didn't you just say witch?"
"Because I will be a Chadic witch."
"Oh, have fun then."
