OTP

OTP is a newer abbreviation that became more popular in 2016. It's been around for a while but wasn't widely used until recently. Many sites will tell you it means "One True Pairing".... this is probably not the answer you're looking for.
OTP has a few definitions... but here are the two most common..

#1 - One True Pairing: When there's a celebrity you think would be perfect with either yourself or another celeb in any form of a significant other As a lover, parent, sister, or best friend, you might call them your OPT or refer to two celebrities as an OPT. This trend is mostly a Tumblr thing, and has since died off due to its silly nature.
#2 - On The Phone: This one's pretty self explanatory and is what I was referring to when I mentioned a raise in popularity in 2016. No true origin domain for this one. Simply just started over some platform of texting.

Usually "on the phone" will be uncapitalized and most times "One True Pairing" will be capitalized. So based on capitalization, you should be able to tell which one it is, if wording doesn't give it away easily enough.

Brad Paisley is my OTP (One True Pairing) or Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are OTP
One second, I'm otpOn The Phone.
