Wutless

Wutless is a word derived from the English word “worthless” used in the Caribbean community to describe someone who is good for nothing, useless or a waste of space.

He’s wutless, he spends all his money on drugs and doesn’t provide for his kids

Spocking

A term used in the Aesthetic beauty industry for people who have had too much or badly injected Botox to the forehead area, causing their eyebrows to be unnaturally raised high at the corners, making them look like they have Mr Spock eyebrows.

“That actress has had so much Botox, her eyebrows are spocking”

Hambeast

A derogatory name for obese people who have unhealthy looking mottled, pink skin. Can be described as piglike, working class people.

“Some of those people on The Jeremy Kyle show are proper hambeasts.”

sand duppy

An old fashioned, derogatory Caribbean term to define someone who is short, fat, ugly and squat. Likening them to a hideous spectre that is close to the ground (sand)

“That guy is so short and fat, he looks like a sand duppy”

Sand-duppy

A word used amongst older Caribbeans to describe an ugly, short fat person. Broken down, a duppy is a hideous demon or ghost and sand, suggesting the duppy is close to the ground, as in short.

He’s so short and fat, he favours sand-duppy

Bittel

Bittel a word widely used by older Caribbeans to describe beating or hitting someone, usually their offspring.

If you do that again, I will bittel you.

Maga

Maga, used to describe someone who looks malnourished, scrawny and underweight, used within the Caribbean community
