Street PhD

When you have mastery of a subject, and the jargon to match, you have a better appreciation of that topic and can appreciate and articulate concepts that novices do not know exist.

"I have a report to write on 90's sitcoms, but since I was raised by wolves, I have no knowledge of any of those shows."
"Go ask Anthony, he has a Street PhD in TV."

exploitsourcing

Exploitsourcing is a sub-set of outsourcing work in which the person or company doing the oursourcing seeks out the lowest possible bid from those who will do the work, often much lower than the industry average or in the guise of a contest, in exchange for money prizes, or more frequently: "growing a portfolio" or "exposure".

"I hear that Old Yoga Studio is getting a fresh logo, who'd they hire?"

"Nobody, man - they're exploitsourcing it as a 'contest' instead. They want 25 entries and the 'winner' gets $500. Everybody else gets nothin'."

"Lamesauce, let's never do Yoga there again."

Communitywashing

Communitywashing is a term that describes a person, place, or thing that claims to support a community or cause, but in reality does not.

Communitywashing is in the same family of armchair activists, greenwashing, or pinkwashing.

P1: "Gary always says he supports (community event, cause, or point of pride), but I've never seen him there, have you?"
P2: "No way, he's totally communitywashing."
P1: "What a slacktivist."
