Howdy is a word used to great people. This is more of a western way to say it and when people say it you know they are a unique one. This word is used to great people.

Archie: What up
Piper: Nothing much well I just came to say hi so I best be on my way.
Marshal: Ok bye then.
Marshal: Damn its hot when she says Howdy like that. I just don't know.
