A form of poker where each player (typically 2-6 players per table) are each dealt five cards and try to make the best five card hand after discarding from none to all of their cards ans receiving new ones in their place. The action plays as follows:
-- All players throw in an ante before the cards are dealt.
-- The two players left of the Dealer Button throw in their Small Blind and Big Blind, respectively.
-- Five cards are dealt to each player.
-- Starting from the player to the left of the Big Blind, players may call, raise, or fold in turn until all action is complete.
-- The remaining players may then discards any number of cards (starting with the first remaining player to the left of the Dealer Button), from none of them (a "Stand Pat") to all of them.
-- Another betting round then occurs starting from the same player.
-- Assuming that at least two players are left by the end of the round, players reveal their hands in clockwise order starting from the leftmost player from the button (if there were no bets in the round), or from the last player to bet/raise in the round.
-- The player with the best five card hand wins the pot, and the process is continued for next hand.
Five Card Draw is commonly played as a Pot Limit or Limit game, but online No Limit games are also sometimes available.
Five Card Draw events in the World Series of Poker have diminished over the years, pushed out by the rising popularity of No Limit Texas Hold 'em and other such games as Omaha and Seven Card Stud.
"Five Card Draw is such an classic game, sometimes my family sits around the table and plays with nickels and dimes just for fun."

A poker term used when a player at a cash table changes out their winnings and comes back with their original buy-in, ensuring the protection of their profits. Frowned upon and considered "dirty" as it takes away the chance for other players to win their money back.
"Hey, did you see that episode of High Stakes Poker? Everyone got on Freddy Deeb's case when they suspected him of going south in the middle of the show."

Playing poker with live money in the form of chips at a casino. There are certain tables for certain games, such as No Limit Texas Hold 'em, Limit Hold 'em, Omaha, and Seven Card Stud. Each of these tables also has a particular stake, ranging from $1/$2 into the thousands with its own minimum buy-in (No Limit and Pot Limit tables also a maximum buy-in).
Not to be confused with tournament tables, one can sit at and exit a cash table at their leisure, bringing and taking their chips with them, and may switch tables as much as they like.
At cash tables it is also customary to tip the dealer with a chip or two when you win a substantial pot, as a symbol of "thanking" the dealer for the cards. While the dealer has nothing to do with the cards other than dealing them out in random orders, their income from tips is notable enough to justify doing it both from a symbolic perspective and a friendly, sportmanlike persective. Plus, you'll seem stingy to them and the other players if you don't.
"Roy took his winnings from his first cash table and tried to move up to higher stakes. Unfortunately, he ended up going broke within the first few minutes there."

A poker term used for the restriction of betting. In Pot Limit, the biggest bet or raise may only match the current pot size, as opposed to No Limit, where the range of betting is unlimited.
For example, if there are 30 chips in the pot when Player A decides to bet, the most he can bet is another 30 chips. If Player B decided to raise, he would call the 30 from Player A (bringing the pot to 90), and could raise up to 90 more (This is because whenever someone raises in any form of poker, the raised amount includes the call of the original bet/raise with an extra amount on top).
The most common forms of poker played Pot Limit are Omaha and Five Card Draw, and occasionally Texas Hold 'em.
"Scott was so embarrassed when he repeatedly tried to go all in on small pots and forgot that he was playing Pot Limit instead of No Limit."
