Dilating is taking someone’s words out of context and either exaggerating or completely fabricating a statement for comedic purposes

Mark- “ id be down to go out tonight if other ppl do”
Chad 2 hours later “Mark said all y’all are pussies if you don’t go out tn”
Mark “that’s crazy dilating right there”
