PÃ¥b

PÃ¥b is a Danish expression.

Awkward silence can be followed my an imperative "PÃ¥b". It is used to break the silence. PÃ¥b can also be used in a reassuring way. Lengthening the PÃ¥b with additional "Ã¥'s" will give the PÃ¥b a more positive feeling. A short PÃ¥b can and will come across as being negative. PÃ¥b is a quick and effective "mood-lightener". PÃ¥b can also be a reaction to a really "goofy" moment.

It is very important to not use Påb as a substitution for "on/på". For example, it is commonly frowned upon to say "I'm Påb" - Translated from Danish.

The Silence-breaker:

"Why didn't you show to the party last night?"

"I didn't know there was party..."
"Påååb."

The reassuring PÃ¥b:

"The assignment is due tommorow, you wanna do it?"

"No, I can't be aksed..."

"PÃ¥b."

The "goofy" PÃ¥b

"Yesterday I dropped my phone into the toilet whilst peeing..."

"Pååååååååb!"
