A Honduran term that means "huge" or "good" depending on the conversation. This word may also be used in other Spanish speaking countries but it may have other meanings such a huge dog.

Chata

A Honduran term used for someone who is flat from their nose or butt. A synonym of "chata" is "plana". Hondurans use it as a kind nickname for someone. Older people also say "chatita". For men use "chato".

Pispirinice

A Honduran term for saying very nice. The word combines "pispiri" which in garifuna means very and "nice" which comes from English. The term is also used as a compliment when someone looks very nice.

"Andas bien pispirinice va maje!" "Que pispirinice te miras loca." "Son bien pisipirnice los primos."

A short Honduran term for saying vergüenza. Vergüenza means shame in English. This term is normally used by the "chico/a fresas" of Honduras.
