Loco

Means crazy but in Honduras loco is mostly used as "dude". For women say "loca" although this is mostly used between women for respect. Hondurans also use maje, primo, compa, papa, and loco when talking to friends.

Chele

A Honduran term for a person of white skin. Many may confuse this term with wero or guero but it is different because wero is used for a person with light skin and blonde hair. Chele can be used for anyone of light skin regardless of their hair color. For women use Chela. This term may also be used in many other Hispanic countries especially in Central America.

Paja

A common Honduran term that means lie. Use pajero/a when calling someone a liar. That is the only meaning this term has in Honduras.

Chato

A Honduran term used for someone who is flat from their nose or butt. A synonym of "chato" is "plano". Hondurans use it as a kind nickname for someone. Older people also say "chatito". For women it is chata.
