one of Macromedias old services. not really well known. unlike Adobe Flash. now owned by adobe. was killed on April 9 2019. its mime type was: application/x-director. shockwave was the player and director is the studio. file types were DIR, DCR, DXR. was first produced by MacroMind. old name was VideoWorks.
