The closest single word to describe someone who's like family to you, etymologically derived from a word meaning "relative". More commonly, the word is used for friends, but it can also be used this way.
"This is Adam, my kith."
"Friend, right?"
"No, he's like family to me. Kith is easier and more serious to use than 'brother from another mother', in my opinion."
Cisgender by default. This concept originated from a blog post made by an user going by the name of Ozymandias.
Taken from the aforementioned blog post,
"I think you could probably tell them apart by asking them the old âwhat would you do if you suddenly woke up as a cis woman/cis man?â If they instantly understand why youâd need to transition in that circumstance, theyâre regular old cis; if they are like âIâd probably be fine with it actually,â they might be cis by default."
Essentially, a cis person who does not feel a very strong connection to their gender, and only identifies as such by default.
Yesterday, when we were talking about gender identity, Ashley told me she was sure that her brother was only cis by default. He claimed he wouldn't mind being a woman.
