gothic

Originally a style of architecture, such as the old cathedrals from 1400 AD.

It was also a music type, and followers of this music type are usually called 'goth's.

Now-a-days, anyone referred to as gothic have the stereotypical image of black clothes, dark make-up sometimes, and listening to heavy, dark music and may be considered depressed all the time and is sadistic. Most times this is not the case, example is my friends. Dressing the part is not 'gothic', which they don't seem to understand..sigh..

So:
1. A style of Architecture
2. A music type
3. An annoying person who attempts to be gothic.
4. A mainstream turn to state something is 'gothic', or dark

1. The gothic cathedrals are really beautiful.

2. I don't really like goth, it doesn't appeal to my ears.

3. "I'm so gothic! Look, I'm wearing black!"
"No, no, you're not."

4. "That is so gothic.."

Good Ripples

From the TV show "Joan of Arcadia". The term is used when a person's actions (however small) end up having a positive outcome. 'Good Ripples' are felt in just about every episode of the show as God asks Joan to do small or big tasks which sometimes seem to her to be pointless. Joan doesnt always see the positive effects of her actions, but that doesnt mean they arent significant.

The best use of 'good ripples' was in the "Joan of Arcadia" episode 'Jump' 112 -
JOAN: the ripples were good
HELEN: very good

Dawson's Creek

A WB tv series which started in 1998. Was one of the many WB shows aimed at teenage audiences at this time. Since the cancellation of 90210 the teen genre had sort of dissolved; then Dawsons Creek, Roswell, Felicity, Buffy, 7th Heaven etc.... came along and breathed life back into the WB. Now teen audiences is mainly what the WB targets and is known for.
DAWSON'S CREEK was basically about " Four friends in a small coastal town help each other cope with adolescence."

OMIGOD!!! Did you guys watch Dawson's Creek last night? I sooo hope Joey and Pacey hook up!
