Float The Cake

A combination of "Float your boat" and "Take the cake."

i.e., can be used in a positive or negative fashion, meaning something that works.

"Man, Samaire sure is lookin' fine this evening. That girl really floats my cake."

"I tried to get my sister to go out with you, but apparently that idea didn't really float the cake."
