american football

A popular American sport that in many small backwater communities is more important than justice and the proper education of the players.

My brother was in a car accident caused by two high school football stars. He got 100 stitches and one eye. They got one year at juvie AFTER football season ends. Damn you american football!

aids

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

a very serious STD caused by the retrovirus HIV. it can be transmitted by semen, breastmilk, blood and vaginal fluid. u cannot get it from huggin or kissin or shakin hands. AIDS eventually kills of ur white blood cells and when they go, ur immune system goes. technically, AIDS doesnt kill u. its the sickness u get when ur immune system is destroyed (like the cold or the flu. in the 80s and early 90s when the disease was first discovered (i think), ppl thought is was only transmitted through homosexuals and that it was a curse on them. its not though. it can be transmitted to homos, straight ppl and even lil babies...

although new medicine and technology help expand the life span for AIDS patients, there is currently no cure for HIV/AIDS.

i still have hope that man will find the cure for AIDS and all of these diseases. in the meantime, u shouldnt discriminate against ppl who have it. its hard enough for them as it is so lay off!

Tourette Syndrome

America's latest example of a double negative, along with Islam.

We can all laugh at HIV, AIDS, cancer, and a legion of other STDs and mental disorders, but - God forbid - we can't ever get away with making fun of some kid saying "FUCKING ASS LICKER" 20 times in twelve minutes.

That's Tourette Syndrome for ya.

tuberculosis

Also known as consumption, tuberculosis or TB is a common and deadly infectious disease caused by mycobacteria. It attacks the lungs and respiratory system, but can also attack the central nervous system, the lymphatic system, the circulatory system, the genitourinary system, bones, joints and even the skin.

Symptoms include chest pains, coughing blood, prolonged coughing, chills, night sweats, pallor, lose of appetite, weight lose, and easy fatigue. Though tuberculosis is not known for being especially contagious, it can be rather easy to transmit, since TB is spread through infected aerosols via coughing, spitting, speaking, kissing, and sneezing. Tuberculosis attacks everybody differently. While it can take months to years for the TB infection to become the TB disease in some people, it can easily become the full flight disease in some people in a matter of weeks.

If left untreated, TB causes death. (duh)

Since tuberculosis is caused by a bacteria, treatment is available via antibiotics, though there is currently no vaccine for adults.

Due to medicial attention toward HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis has resurged.

On a lighter note, tuberculosis is probably the most overused disease found in historical manga/anime.

Wait, that's not good...

social moth

another version of a social butterfly, only in this case the subject (moth) wants everyone to like him/her only they get the opposite reaction e.g. nobody likes them. This indvidual may or may not have a whorish lifestyle, which may or may not be effective due to their typically under-managed hygiene, particularly in the oral region.

Guy 1: Did you see that guy? He wants to be friends with everyone, but nobody likes him.

Guy 2: Ohhh, he's just a social moth. Nobody likes moths...

urban legend

a legend that is hard to prove is true. or, it can be easy to prove it false. urban legends are usually written on paper most of the time. but when ppl pass it on it (which most of the time, is not a paper), the story changes from person to person. so thats why its hard to prove or disprove urban legends.

there are up to 7 variations of "the killer in the back seat" urban legend, so its possible that it is false.
