Hamburgers originated from the German region of Hamburg. They are actually called hamburgers for a reason. When the Americans found out about them, they added other topping and it was called the hamburger.

Person 1: I love hamburgers.
Person 2: Yeah they are the best.
Person 1: But why are they called hamburgers if there’s no ham in them?
Person 2: They’re from Hamburg.
Person 1: What’s Hamburg?
Person 2: Do you know anything?
