Sitting around and looking good, but doing nothing.
Always applied to lazy people, but best addressed to those who pretend to be working in order to look industrious, and avoid punishment or harder jobs; also, for those who think they are attractive and therefore shouldn't have to work.
1. "That counter is clean, so don't pretend to wipe it -- you're just goldbricking so you can stand around and chit-chat."
2. "Don't stand there goldbricking; you're not too cute to wash your own damn dishes."
Also: "I just asked myself, 'Where would I go if I was goldbricking?' -- and there you were." -- Sgt. Mary Gumm, from Friday, by Robert A. Heinlein.
