19th century slang term for a large pit that black slaves were dumped into when they had died of exhaustion or were put down because of a debilitating injury. These mass graves were typically found in or around work areas that were extremely labor intensive, such as mine quarries and sugar plantations

Black Slave: I'm sorry, massa, but I can't take no Moe! Ma back about to break!

Overseer: Boy you better get yer ass back to work or we gon' put ya down and dump yer ass in the nigger hole!
