Someone who turned into a trumpet/ trumpet/ trump supporter

I am sad. Just found out a friend who I consider like a brother, has morphed into a Trumper. I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around it. Like I think it'd be easier to explain quantum physics to the soda can I just emptied, than to reconcile what's happened here
