A person who has a sibling, but they are so distant from that sibling that they may as well just be an only child.

Person A: My family consists of my mom, dad, and sister.
Person B: Woah, you never told me you had a sister!
Person A: Yeah, I do, but I never talk to her or see her, so I'm a lonely child.
