When a person that should be competent in their field reassures you about something that eventually turns out to be the complete opposite.

A: "You know, I had inserted a gift code, and the Customer Service guy told me that those 8$ Netflix tried to get from my card were just a test to see if my card was available and that the money would be given back to me immediately after finishing registration. At the end, I never saw those 8$ again."
B: "Oh god, he pulled a Jose Miguel on you!"
