Joe: Gay marriage must remain illegal!

Jim: Why?

Joe: Because...it must! I am a patriot! I must defend my country's sacredness and the rights of the American people!

Jim: But is gay marriage really that damaging? And aren't you taking away people's rights by opposing gay marriage?

Joe: Well...um...you did read that study, didn't you?

Jim: What study?

Joe: You know...that one...a while back...that proved that gay marriage is evil?

Jim: How did they prove it? What were their methods?

Joe: Well...um...they...did a bunch of...um...statistics, and....

Jim: ...There is no such study, is there?

Joe: Well...um...not exactly...

Jim: So...why do you oppose gay marriage?

Joe: Well...um...because all of my friends are opposed to gay marriage, so I'm going to oppose it too!

Jim: (facepalm)
