When a straight person has his/her first homosexual or lesbian experience, he or she is making a "gabut". Pronounced "gay-bu" as in debut.

Mary broke up with her boyfriend and decided to date girls. Last weekend, she made her gabut at Kim's party and showed up with Heather.
