The sourthen kingdom of anicent Mesopotamia: a great empire from about 2200--538 BC, when it was conquerd by Mesoptamia in the Euphrates river valley. It flourished under Hammurabia and Nebuchadnezzarll but dedined after 562 BC, and fell to the persionsin 539 BC.
