The Horseshoe

Nickname for Ohio Stadium, where the Ohio State Buckeyes play home football games. It has a cpacity of over 105,000 people and is called simply "the shoe" by most Ohioans. The stadium is shaped like a horseshoe, thus the reason for the nickname (though the open part now has seats and a huge scoreboard).

This year the Ohio State/Michigan game will be played in the Horseshoe, and the Buckeyes will probably win.

Michigan Wolverines

A college football team with very cocky fans. UM, sorry, make that scUM fans constantly bring up their many national titles and their series lead over Ohio State. But they never mention that 10 of their 11 NCs were won in the leather helmet era, and that they haven't won an undisputed NC since 1949. Also, their series lead against the Buckeyes is pretty much only because they beat OSU alot back in the 1800s and early 1900s, when OSU was still a small A&M type school. Since 1950, the OSU/UM rivalry series has been prety much equal. (and Ohio State has won 4 of the last 5)

Michigan Wolverines fan: We always own the Buckeyes
OSU Buckeyes fan: What about all those times we beat you?
Michigan Wolverines fan: Um.....well.....derr....i don't know
OSU Buckeyes fan: What a moron

Bellevue

A town in north central Ohio, located about 15-20 miles south west of Sandusky (where Cedar Point is). Population 8,193. This town is a major hub of the Norfolk Southern railroad and is on US 20, the longest US route in America. Bellevue's population is made up of mostly Italian and German decendants and it's high school sports teams are named the "Redmen". There are a few dine in restaurants, and a lot of fast food and pizza joints.

I just drove though Bellevue, and I had to wait for 2 trains.

The Game

To those living in Ohio and Michigan, the Ohio State/Michigan game is simply reffered to as "the game".

For the first time in a long time "the game" will not start at 12:00 noon, but at 3:30. Damn ABC for upsetting a long standing tradition. Oh well, go Bucks! Screw the blue!

Tampa Bay Devil Rays

MLB team in St. Petersburgh , Florida. Stadium: Tropicana Field.

The Devil Rays exist for 3 reasons:

1. So that peolpe living in Florida who are origionaly from other states can see their team play in person without having to travel back to their home city.

2. So that other MLB teams can get some easy wins now and then

3. So people in the Tampa area would finaly stop bitching about not having an MLB team

1. He's origionaly from Cleveland, but he lives in Fort Meyes. He sure is glad he can still see the Tribe play by just driving up to Tampa.

2. If the Red Sox are going to make up some ground, they'll need some easy wins. It's a good thing they have a 4 game series vs the Tampa Bay Devil Rays next week!

3. Can you believe that Tropicana Field was built many years before the Devil Rays existed, because the Tampa area wanted an MLB team. Well they finaly got one, too bad it sucks.

Wendy's

Fast food chain, basically a burger joint. Some of it's signature food items include (but are not limited to): Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, Classic single (double and triple) burger, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Crispy Chicken nuggets, Chili, Baked potatoes, Side Salads, and of course...the best thing about Wendy's...the Frosty (which is a chocolate, or now also vanilla, ice cream treat. A Frosty, however, is thicker than a milkshake, yet lighter than actual ice cream)

Wendy's founder was Dave Thomas. Thomas opened the first Wendy's in downtown Columbus, Ohio in 1969. The restaurant was named after his daughter, Wendy Thomas. Since then the company has grown into an international corporation, with retaurants all over the US and the world. It's corporate headquarters is located in Dublin, Ohio (Columbus suburb)

Dave Thomas dided in 2002. However, Wendy's always has, and still uses the slogan "We do it Dave's way"

I'm goin to Wendy's, you can't beat their 99 cent menu.
