Punk

1. A hardcore and faster form of rock made famous by the genre of music garage rock or mod.

punk music was an underground form of rock in North America and Australia in the early to mid 1970's while it became a sensation in the UK.

In the later 1970's a new form of punk emerged. This was a more hardcore and anti social version of punk rock starting a rivalry between old school punk fans and a much younger crowd of hardcore punk rock.

In the late 1970's and early 1980's an even newer era of punk began. That being New Wave. This was a different kind of punk. One because most people did not call their music punk rock any more but instead New wave. This era included bands such as Talking heads, Blondie and The police.

The next wave of punk rock comes in the 1990's to present. This wave of punk includes bands such as Nirvana, Bad religion, Green Day, the offspring and many more bands. Also screamo is another sub genre of punk. Screamo and emo are the most current sub genre of punk.

2. Punk. A lifestyle not a trend.

Somebody wants to know what punk is. He notices that I have a skate board and like green day. Three months later he talkes to me again and says I learned to skate am I punk now? And I say no your a poser.
