Engaygements are promises to marry between two same-sex couples (two (2) males or two (2) females). Some engaygements are announced at an engaygement party where both gay and straight couples celebrate a previously publicized engaygement.

if same-sex marriage is legalized, there will be several hundred-thousand engaygements prior to all the weddings.
