Reschedulation

Reschedulation (noun): The fine art of a salesperson rescheduling a meeting with someone who just canceled, while convincing themselves (and their team) that it’s all part of the master plan. Often involves excessive optimism and a dash of denial.

Example 1:
Team Member 1: "Didn’t Johnson cancel on you last minute again?"
Team Member 2: "Yeah, but I’ve already got a reschedulation locked in for next week. It’s all good."
Team Member 1: "You mean next week’s cancellation?"

Example 2:
Sales Manager: "What happened to the Acme deal meeting?"
Salesperson: "Oh, they had to cancel, but I secured a reschedulation for Friday."
Manager: "Is that the same Friday they rescheduled for last time?"
Salesperson: "...it’s the journey that matters, not the destination."

Example 3:
Sales Team Chat:
Salesperson 1: "Got another reschedulation from Smith—pushed to next month."
Salesperson 2: "So you’re saying there’s still a chance!"
Salesperson 3: "Reschedulation is just rejection with a sugar coating."
