gen when, short for ‘genuinely when’ can be used in 2 ways;

1. in the instance where the joke ‘when… did I ask’ is overused and so one needs to clarify that they are seriously asking when something happened, and to for-warn that are not about to ‘when’ someone.

2. as a double bluff or extension of ‘when did I ask’
