Degen

A degen is a person who participated in a multitude of activities that will ultimately result in losing a generations worth of progress by their previous ancestors. May also be used if the person is keeping up with previous family traditions in a way that stunts their progress amongst their piers. The progress could be in many forms and is not restricted to wealth, life skills or health and generally includes positive societal contributions as a major factor.

Well dang, Mark sure is a degen! His moms a teacher and dads an engineer, they worked hard and sacrificed for his college fund and for the last few years he’s having unprotected sex with prostitutes, hasn’t worked, weighs 260 and dropped out of college to marry the second one he got pregnant… Yea and I heard him say he’s banging 7 gram rocks and finishin er day, figures he’s gunna work in the film industry, maybe disapear to LA when the kids born. What a degen!
