Wiki remorse

Knowing the only reason you graduated from high school and or college was because of Wikipedia.

Wiki's remorse could also be a feeling of guilt. Almost as if you cheated because you used Wikipedia and it made the assignment so much more easier.

(Wiki remorse is also known as "wiki's remorse" or "Wikipedia remorse".)

On graduation day the valedictorian was giving her speech about how she spent long hours and days at the library researching for her 15 page report on The Holocaust, and how hard work pays off. While Max thought about how he basically just paraphrased the whole Wikipedia article on the Holocaust. Then he started feeling like crap and having wiki remorse for not putting any effort into his work .

Wiki trip

When one visits Wikipedia and clicks linked articles until they are at an article they never thought they would be at in the first place.

Person 1: I went to look up Burj Dubai on Wikipedia and somehow ended up reading about the Stanley Cup? How did this happen?

Person 2: Wow, that's quite the Wiki trip

wiki-wormhole

When an insignificant curiosity starts on Wikipedia and becomes an involved series of following links within wiki pages to other pages, until you can no longer remember where you even began. Hence, the wiki-wormhole effect.

"I have been caught in a never ending wiki-wormhole!
How did that happen?
Good old fashioned procrastination, my friend."

wiki adventure

When you look something up in wikipedia, a related article or link catches your eye and causes you to drift from your main purpose. Often including many hops through wikipedia articles.

Chris: Didn't that nuclear thing explode in China?
Josh: Nah, that was Ukraine
Chris: Damn, you out wiki'd me.
::5 minutes later::
Chris: My wiki adventure took me from Chernobyl & Ukraine to Mongolia.
Chris: How the hell did Mongolia rule half the world!?!

Wiki Rolled

The result of looking for facts on wikipedia to find the post has been changed to incorrect or unfactual information in an effort to intentionally deceive. Most commonly found to take place during the Worlds Largest Trivia Contest in Stevens Point, Wi.

I've been wiki rolled.

Wiki-Racing

An internet game wherein one player calls out a Wikipedia article for all other players as a starting point, and another player names a different article that must be arrived at by using the hyperlinks situated throughout the first article. The first to arrive at the destination via clicking on these interspersed links is proclaimed winner of the match and the process repeats ad infinitum.

Forget Beer Pong; I could go for some Wiki-Racing.

My finest Wiki-Racing match was 15 seconds: bananas to defenstration.

wiki jumping

When reading an article on Wikipedia, you click a link within the article and jump to a related article. On said related article, you click yet another link to a different article.

Often the article you end up with is not at all related to the original--like playing the game Telephone. This continues until half of your night is wasted.

To spend time wiki jumping:
1: Read article about Anime. Article links to Otaku.
2: Read article about Otaku. Article links to Serial Killers.
3: Read article about Serial Killers. Article links to the UniBomber.
4. Read article about UniBomber. Article links to Iowa.
5. Read article about Iowa. Article links to Corn.
6. Rinse and repeat.

Anime != Corn
