1. Having made a huge mistake resulting in regret.
2. Crying or used in reference to someone who is crying.

"Dude, I've got salt in my eyes right now. I can't believe I did that last night."

"Sorry, she can't come to the phone right now, her boyfriend broke up with her and she's all salty eyed."

Formerly a Korean automobile manufacturer whose name was surreptitiously changed to "Hundai" following American marketing consultants' recommendations to the then auto maker's board of directors that this name in America had phonetically potentially socially embarrassing implications . circa 1990
