wallpaper gig

A musical performance intended to merely enhance the ambiance of a social function, rather than to directly enertain an attentive audience (i.e. dinner music).

"How'd the gig go last night?" / "I kept fucking up, but it was a wallpaper gig, so nobody noticed..."

gig butt

A painful rash that occurs around your ass when working/walking in a hot climate for extended periods of time. This is caused by the bacteria around your anus thriving in a hot and dark environment. When experiencing gig butt, walking like a bow-legged cowboy is only a bandaid fix. Washing your anus (which is painful with gig-butt) is the only remedy or in a pinch, the use of baby wipes or Tucks medicated pads works wonders.

The experienced Roadie taught the stagehands how to get rid of gig butt.

Gig Knee

Gig Knee is the pain experienced when watching a band play a ridiculously long set. Usually after the 45 Minute mark you get an awful zing in the back of your knees. This rarely disappears until you get the last bus home, Hence the reason for a quick exit at the venue.

Two Friends at a show:

"I've got gig knee!"
"Same here"
"Get off the fucking stage already"

harsh a gig

To do something that destroys one's plans; particularly, to ruin someone's party night by asking them to babysit, borrowing their car, or otherwise render them incapable of attending said function.

Dude, mom asked me to babysit tonight, she's totally harshing my gig!

Gig 'em

A term the fightin' Texas Aggies of Texas A&M University--College Station use to push each other on toward victory whether it be in 1.)athletics, 2.)academics or 3.)life. It has it's origins in the old rivalry with the TCU Horned Frogs in which a gig was something used to kill a frog. It is typically associated with the thumbs up symbol

1. As Ryan Tannehill lined up behind center to lead the Aggies to their next touchdown, the 12th man was heard yelling, "Gig 'em Aggies."

2. As John and Mike put their pennies at Sully's feet, they wished each other the best in their finals with a "Gig 'em!"

3. As Ol' Rock got hired for his first job out of college, his new boss noticed his Aggie Ring, gave him the thumbs up and said, "Gig 'em!"
